Description:
Yoshioka, a novelist struggling with sensual stories, is supported by his wife Michiru despite his lack of success. As he battles his failures with alcohol and affairs, causing Michiru pain, she remains devoted. Yoshioka resolves to change, dedicating himself to writing and eventually publishing a novel that wins an award. Months later, on Ishigakijima island, a drunken Yoshioka confides in bar owner Megumi about losing his wife in a traffic accident due to his disappointments. Moved by his grief, Megumi tells him of a local legend: a "fragrance satchel" allows a brief reunion with a deceased loved one at a specific lighthouse, the effect lasting only until the scent fades. She gives him the satchel.
