Description:
In Hoyt City, a statue honors its founder, Ethan Hoyt, and 100-year-old Hannah Sempler Hoyt, the last resident in a city of skyscrapers, finally agrees to tell her life story to a young biographer. Her tale begins in 1848 when a teenage Hannah meets and falls for pioneer Ethan, and they impulsively run away together. The story follows their difficult journey to establish a city in the wilderness, facing challenges from the Gold Rush, a passionate but complicated romance, danger, and loss. The narrative spans eight decades.
