Description:
This performance piece uses multiple projectors to revisit sound and image experiments from the 1970s. The film and sound were created by bleaching a strip of black film, leaving a clear line running through it. The resulting film has two sets of perforations and is formed into a Mobius Loop. When projected, the light shifts back and forth, altering the tone of the sprocket holes. Three 16mm projectors are positioned on their sides, projecting the loops as stacked blocks of light that gradually change color with gels. The performance also incorporates the sound tone controls of the projectors. Originally presented at Star & Shadow Cinema in Newcastle in 2007, with sound design by Lynn Loo. By G.S.
