Description:
"La Fiesta de Santa Barbara" is a 1935 American comedy short film directed by Louis Lewyn. It received an Academy Award nomination in 1936 for Best Short Subject (Color). The film stars a young Judy Garland, then 13 years old and before she became a major star, singing "La Cucaracha" with her sisters, billed as "The Garland Sisters." The story follows Hollywood celebrities as they participate in a Mexican-themed festival and revue in Santa Barbara. Andy Devine, known as the "World's Greatest Matador," has a bullfight with a questionable bull provided by Buster Keaton, while music is performed by Joe Morrison and The Garland Sisters. The film also includes comedic scenes and dance sequences.
