Kanzaki receives a letter from Mari Setogaya asking to meet during lunch break in the school's PE storage room, and he anticipates a confession of love. He arrives excitedly, only to be attacked by Mari. She attempts to knock him unconscious, but fails. Mari reveals she is a vampire who intended to feed on him. Feeling sympathy for her desperate situation, Kanzaki allows her to drink his blood. However, Mari can't tolerate the taste of raw blood, but needs the nutrients it provides to survive. Kanzaki offers an alternative bodily fluid, which instantly captivates Mari. They begin meeting regularly, and their relationship deepens beyond just these unusual encounters.
