Brabant is fractured by internal conflict, and a sinister force from the region's pagan history plots to overthrow the current religious government and restore pagan rule. A mysterious knight arrives, seemingly sent by God, with extraordinary charisma and skill. He aims to unite and protect the people, and to clear noblewoman Elsa's name after she's falsely accused of murder. He sets a condition: the people must follow him blindly, without knowing who he is. Elsa is forbidden from asking about his identity, background, or origins. The conspirators work to erode her trust in him, sow doubt among the populace, and ultimately drive him away.
