Face A / Face B (2002)

"Face A / Face B" is an autobiographical work tracing the artist's life from childhood to the present, set against the backdrop of the Lebanese civil war. The video combines photographs, voice recordings, melodies, and historical information to explore themes of memory, identity, and the power of the human voice. Using a cassette tape recorded with his brother for a sibling in Russia as a starting point, the work examines the meaning of the past and how personal and collective histories are deeply connected. Private and public memories intertwine in a series of voices, blending personal recollections, political commentary, and philosophical insights.
