Description:
An artist dozes in his studio when a young woman emerges from an antique clock and asks him to paint her portrait. As he works, a clown appears from the clock and begins to court the woman. The artist stops him and continues painting. Intrigued, the clown asks to paint the portrait himself, and with a brush, creates a flawless image of the woman on the canvas. The painted woman steps out of the frame and joins the real woman, and they begin to dance, astonishing the artist. The clown waves his hand, merging the two figures into one. The artist then abruptly awakens in shock. This was a Vitagraph production later acquired and copyrighted by the Edison Company.
