Description:
The aging King Lear decides to divide his kingdom among his three daughters, making their declarations of love the deciding factor. When his youngest daughter, Cordelia, refuses to offer insincere flattery for an inheritance, he banishes her and seeks support from his other daughters. However, Goneril and Regan harbor no genuine affection and scheme to seize Lear's power. Simultaneously, Lear's trusted advisor, Gloucester, favors his illegitimate son Edmund after being deceived about his loyal son Edgar. Both fathers face devastating tragedy and madness as a result.
