Description:
Charles le Temeraire proposes marriage to Jeanne de Beauvais, daughter of King Louis XI, hoping to acquire her valuable lands as a dowry. The King sees through this scheme and refuses the proposal, especially since his daughter is unwilling. Charles then plots to kidnap the prince, framing Robert de Neuville, a nobleman in love with the princess. Robert manages to rescue Jeanne from her confinement. Charles continues to set traps and manipulate people into falsely accusing Jeanne and the King. Ultimately, Jeanne escapes unharmed from a pack of wolves who are secretly watching her in the snowy woods instead of attacking. Charles then accuses her of witchcraft, desiring her death to prevent her from marrying Robert. Robert will defend her in a trial by God. Will the miraculous escape from the wolves happen again, or will Charles defeat Robert in a sword duel?
