Tiger Day (2002)

This film investigates the Yi ethnic minority's "Tiger Day" ceremony through an anthropological lens, exploring the cultural roots of drug dependence within local communities. It offers a unique approach – using cultural strength to address the biological aspects of addiction, moving beyond traditional descriptions and interpretations. The film directly applies its anthropological insights to help combat addiction, pioneering a new path for film and television anthropology. Nominated for a Special Award at the 16th Belfast Public Health Conference Film Festival in 2005.
