Checkpoint (2013)

"Machsom," Hebrew for "Checkpoint," follows Yaniv Greenblatt, a nearly 19-year-old Israeli soldier stationed at a highly volatile checkpoint in the West Bank. He desires pacifism and strives for fairness towards Palestinians, but faces scrutiny from his superiors. His personal struggles are equally challenging; his mother, a staunch right-wing activist confined to a wheelchair, is deeply affected by the same terrorist attack that killed her husband. The film centers on Yaniv's relationship with his younger brother, Avi, who attends a rare Jewish-Arab school in Israel, culminating in an event at the checkpoint that forces everyone to question their beliefs.
