Description:

George Shuttleworth believes he's skilled enough to win the Isle of Man TT races, even though people in his hometown of Wigan doubt him. During the qualifying trials, a problem with the brakes on his homemade motorcycle, "The Shuttleworth Snap," unexpectedly allows him to break the TT lap record, making him an overnight sensation. As the main race nears, George discovers that envious competitors will do anything to prevent him from competing. An early film starring George Formby and considered one of his finest.
