Description:
Seventeen-year-old Tamer and his friends are part of a new generation of Palestinian Arabs who chose to remain in their homeland and challenge Israeli rule after the 1948 displacement. Like many teenagers, they spend their time searching for drugs, pursuing romantic interests, playing video games, and skipping school. But when a captivating new student named Maysaa joins their class, Tamer is instantly drawn to her and becomes involved in her political activities. He and his classmate Safwat join her in a plan to secretly raise the Palestinian flag and peacefully disrupt the celebrations planned for Israel’s Independence Day – a day of mourning for Palestinians marking their displacement 70 years ago. Uncertain about his own beliefs, Tamer must decide what he truly values and how far he's willing to go for freedom.
