The work is hard and requires a lot of physical effort. Grandma's hands show the marks of a lifetime of pain and labor as she kneads the dough with rolling pins and old-fashioned tools. She carefully transfers the bread to a peel and places it in the stone oven. Grandpa tends the wood-burning oven, constantly tending the fire and turning the bread on the hot hearth. They work together in quiet synchronicity, close to each other.
