Description:
Director Ike Nnaebue, in his first documentary *No U-Turn*, revisits the journey he undertook over 20 years ago. He planned to travel from Nigeria to Morocco via Benin, Mali, and Mauritania, but was turned back and never reached Europe. On this new journey, he encounters others making the same trip and explores their motivations for risking a dangerous, undocumented passage into an uncertain future. Despite knowing the risks of overland travel, more young people are choosing this path. The film combines poetic reflections with an examination of colonialism's lasting effects to reveal the profound desire for opportunity driving an entire generation.
