Description:
In Bombay, Parvati, a widow from Burma with her two sons, Prem and Rajesh, moves in with Sewakram, her late husband's friend, and his two daughters, Shanti and Durga. Sewakram returns some of her husband's money and jewelry. The family settles into a large home and lives peacefully. Soon after, Prem and Rajesh marry Shanti and Durga. Their harmony is disrupted when Parvati learns from Mrs. Pereira that Prem is physically abusing his pregnant wife. Parvati and Rajesh try to intervene, but their actions unravel their peaceful life and push the brothers into conflict.
