Te Whānau o Aotearoa – Caretakers of the Land (2003)

This 2002 documentary follows a group of people experiencing homelessness in Wellington. Following a move from Cuba Mall, they establish a community by the Cenotaph, calling it a "village of peace." Guided by a leader known as 'Brother' (Ben Hana), they seek government engagement. Their public presence challenges police, the public, politicians, and the media.
