Description:
"Song Poem (Trips Visits)" is a video work made from secondhand videotapes – everything from home movies to hunting instruction. It was made for an exhibition called "Song Poems," which was inspired by a 1960s-70s mail-order service that would set poems to music and send them back as "singles." The show combined musicians and video artists, who created new music and visuals for existing poems by different writers. I made a video for an original poem by the show’s curator, Steven Hull, with music by The Pony Express, a New York alternative rock band. – Robert Beck
