Description:
Don Juan de Marana’s father warned him that women bring life, disappointment, and ultimately, death – a lesson his father learned from his wives, Donna Isobel and Donna Elvira. After studying at the University of Pisa, Don Juan settles in Rome, a city ruled by the powerful Borgia family: Caesar, Lucrezia, and the Count Donati. He enjoys the affections of many women, but one remains unattainable and relentlessly haunts him. His pursuit of this woman brings him into conflict with the Borgias, particularly after he rejects Lucrezia and kills Count Donati in a duel. As a result, both Don Juan and the woman he desires face a death sentence in the Tigre River prison.
