Lotus (2014)

Lotus, my first single-channel animation, represents a new direction in my work. I use the image of the Buddha, symbolizing wisdom and forgiveness, to depict the decline of a noble ruler into a corrupt despot consumed by power. The film gradually introduces war imagery – bombs and grenades – reflecting the volatile political climate of today. This story is inspired by my experiences with war, political corruption, and global instability, which began in Iran during my childhood in the 1970s and continued in the 1990s.
