Dark Blue Night (2021)

Dark Blue Night follows Semih, a young man from Turkey's working class who dreams of a football career, a path different from his friends who become miners. After failing to find a professional football club, Semih struggles financially and accumulates significant debt. Married with a daughter, he relies on his father Kazım, a retired miner and union leader. Despite his father’s disapproval stemming from the loss of another son in a mine accident, Semih begins working in the mines. He soon suffers a severe accident, losing his arm. The mine owners offer compensation, which is accepted by most, but after his father's death, Semih reconsiders. His emotional instability creates conflict with his wife, who leaves him. Semih then fights for legal justice while striving to reunite his family.
