Description:
Marta is a dreamer and struggles with school. She lives with her sister Kasia and grandmother, who fills their small room with stories of resistance instead of bedtime tales. Behind the wall, their parents, Tadek and Elżbieta, navigate their marriage. Tadek, intelligent but constantly undermined by the government, makes moonshine and secretly resents his successful brother-in-law. Elżbieta leads the "Solidarity" union at work, yearning for freedom and a life beyond Poland. Their lives change when they finally acquire a coveted orange Fiat 126p. Tadek and Elżbieta discover a passion for trading and travel, while Marta experiences her first love as she comes of age.
