Farewell (2001)

Yuichi Kosaka, a businessman in Ueda, feels his career stagnating and is unfairly treated by his strict manager, Takada, who has connections to the company's leadership. Increasingly frustrated with his wife and daughter, Yuichi impulsively drives towards his hometown one night. He becomes lost in the mountains, but spots an old public telephone. Using the phonebook, he finds and dials the number of a high school classmate, Tai. Hearing Tai's voice after 30 years unexpectedly connects him to his past.
