Polina Osetinskaya. Obsession (2005)

Viktor Tikhomirov created the only portrait film focusing on the pianist Polina Osetinskaya. Beginning piano lessons at age five, she performed her first solo concert at the Vilnius Philharmonic at six. As a child, Osetinskaya rehearsed for 14-16 hours daily, memorized ten poems, and ran ten kilometers. In the film, she reflects on her childhood, strict self-discipline, and the vivid imagery she used to connect with music. The film incorporates recordings from her personal archive, footage from Yevgeny Yufit's "Killed by Lightning," and 1980s video chronicles featuring her earliest interviews.
