Hospital Boat (2009)

Orphaned by war, 12-year-old Nikol finds refuge in Isla Kalilintad, a diverse island community. He’s forced to grow up quickly, working to support his younger brother, Langit. A humanitarian medical team, led by Dr. Sittie and Sr. Claire, visits the island before heading to other remote islands. Nikol eagerly joins their mission, presenting himself as a healer and becoming a valuable assistant. The low-budget medical mission travels to isolated villages using community-provided fishing boats, reaching people struggling with the effects of war and poverty, often untouched by government or private healthcare. Each journey reveals stories of resilience and survival.
