This documentary explores the significant cultural shifts in Southern Italy following 1945 by examining locations from the films of Vittorio De Seta and the people he encountered. The film features interviews with De Seta himself, as well as directors Luciano Tovoli, Franco Maresco, and Gianfranco Pannone, writers Vincenzo Consolo, Goffredo Fofi, Eugenio Turri, and critic Marco Gazzano.
