Description:
The film examines the lasting impact of Uruguay's military dictatorship, which ruled from 1973 to 1985 and left behind many missing people. María Emilia is one of those who vanished; she disappeared at 22 with her husband and 18-month-old child. Her mother, María Esther, searched for 16 years before finding her granddaughter living with an Argentine military family in Buenos Aires. After discovering her true origins, the granddaughter chose to remain with her adoptive parents, who had taken her as a baby.
