Description:
Thijs, a Dutch tomato farmer in his later years, is encouraged by his adult daughters to relocate to a high-rise apartment, a move that would mean leaving his life behind. He decides against it, taking advice from his teenage grandson Omar to stay where he is. Thijs even seeks Omar's help with his love life, leading to a blind date with Jacky, an enthusiastic woman from Flanders who is persistent in pursuing him. She frequently visits, drawing him into a vibrant social scene and preparing for a dance competition. Soon after, Omar returns home withdrawn and unmotivated, having run away from school and family. The reason for his unhappiness is a girl: Mergal, a Turkish woman who is equally interested in him, but her protective brother Erhan insists any boyfriend must be superior to him in oil-wrestling, a traditional test of strength.
