Description:
EAT: Mainstreet Dinner for the Homeless offers a look at the homeless people living on the streets around the vacant Woodward's Building in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. The tent city is both a visual problem and a focal point for concern about the difficulties faced by the homeless and those struggling in Vancouver's growing real estate market. The film alternates between scenes of poverty and a chef preparing a fine meal, alongside images of a houseboy cleaning. Originally made for EAT issue #5 of www.horizonzero.ca – a virtual dinner party.
