Towel Head (2021)

In southwest Sydney, Layla faces a pivotal audition that could define her career. Struggling with self-doubt, she grapples with feelings of inadequacy, attributing them to both her own inner critic and societal pressures. After pushing past her comfort zone, she is denied access to an important audition because of her hijab. This film explores the experiences of people of colour in a Western society, but primarily focuses on themes of self-acceptance and personal resilience.
