Counterattack (2000)

Sports TV host Ren Xiaoyu interviews Wang Dashan at a fast-food restaurant. Wang, while drinking, declares on live television that he'll create his own "Baozi Team" to compete against the city's professional team. This drunken boast becomes a viral sensation. The TV station and Xiaoyu are pressured to make the challenge real. Xiaoyu and Cultural Department chief Qian Ning recruit the restaurant’s owner and staff as players, shutting down the shop for training with the slogan: “We won’t steam buns, but we’ll fight for pride!” A wealthy rival team, "International United," enters the competition, determined to defeat the inexperienced underdogs. A major sporting event is on the horizon.
