Description:
Amidst the turmoil of the Jinshin War in 762, a baby with a small horn on his forehead was born. His mother, seeing the horn as a sign of an oni, abandoned him. An elderly mountain ascetic named him Utsunomiko, meaning 'Divine Child of the Heavens,' explaining the horn symbolized the connection between heaven and earth. Raised in the mountains, Miko learned Shugendō practices and began exploring villages. Witnessing the poverty and suffering of the common people, he used his spiritual abilities to help them. However, his resentment towards the rulers' selfishness and power struggles grew, leading him into open conflict with the Imperial Court and setting him on a path as a defender of the downtrodden.
