Description:
*My Childhood, My Country* mirrors Richard Linklater's *Boyhood* by filming a real-life coming-of-age story over 20 years with the same actor. The film follows Mir, a curious seven-year-old living in a cave near the destroyed Buddhas of Bamiyan in central Afghanistan. For two decades, we witness his life unfold. As an adult with a family, he chooses to become a news cameraman in Kabul, pursuing his career. More than a personal story, *My Childhood, My Country* powerfully examines Afghanistan's progress – or lack thereof – over the last 20 years.
