I Saw a God Dance (2012)

"I Saw a God Dance" begins in 1938 with filmmaker Tom D'aguiar filming the young Indian choreographer and dancer Ram Gopal on the terrace of his Bangalore home. Years later, Abraham discovers this footage accidentally in D'aguiar's house. Revisiting the deteriorating film, she explores Ram Gopal’s life, his career, and personal journey through a collection of damaged 8mm footage, photographs, documents, reviews, audio recordings, and interviews with those who knew him. The film pieces together Ram Gopal's story from these scattered archival fragments.
