Description:
IJswee is a documentary film exploring an ice club, a village, and its mild winters. The film follows the people of Odoorn, the Oringers, throughout the winter season, each experiencing IJswee uniquely. It features Rafael van der Ziel, the Icecounter, who creates ice sculptures and enjoys frozen milk. The changing Drenthe landscape is captured alongside animations and archival footage, accompanied by the evocative music of Wietse de Haan, which incorporates the mysterious sounds of IJswee. Two trumpet players are also featured, welcoming and bidding farewell to winter through their music.
