Little Angel (2003)

During the Cultural Revolution, Zhou Hao's father was criticized and beaten. Despite having a congenital intellectual disability, Zhou Hao's parents deeply loved him and fostered his talent for imitation, creating a special world for him. Raised in a church by his grandmother, he learned Bible passages despite never attending school. Known as "Little Angel" for his efforts to promote love, Zhou Hao is now over 30. He has become a preacher in rural house churches, where many are illiterate. This film follows Zhou Hao, observing his life within a society lacking love and faith. It explores the lasting impact of past political turmoil on an ordinary couple, while highlighting Zhou Hao's enduring innocence and idealism – a reflection of spiritual emptiness and societal absurdity.
