A remote mountain village in northern Fujian is thrown into turmoil when, on the wedding day of Dong Wenhui and Qian Xiuchen, the groom's father is fatally attacked by a python. When Dong Wenlin disposes of the snake's body on the wedding altar, the python king vows revenge. The film draws from the region's ancient snake worship traditions, where snakes were revered as ancestral deities since the Qin and Han dynasties. This reverence persists today, with villagers avoiding harming or consuming snakes, and giving rise to numerous myths. "Mutated Python" is inspired by the popular legend of "The Long Snake Immortal Marries His Wife."
