Description:
Marilyn Jordan, an American living in Stockholm with her Swedish family, exhibits increasingly strange behavior. She poisons her dog's milk, sets the bedsheets on fire while her husband sleeps, and crawls under the dining table to sing. Detained at airport customs for pruning shears, she encounters a young Yugoslav woman and follows her to a Gypsy enclave. There, Marilyn becomes the object of desire, finds a lover, assists with the bar's entertainment, and returns home transformed. The film also follows Marilyn’s daughter as she begins working as a junior homemaker, alongside the young immigrant’s development as a stripper.
