Sichuan Triptych (2010)

The film explores three significant events in China during 2008: the March protests, the May earthquake, and the August Olympics. In Tagong, two young Tibetan girls play in the grasslands as military exercises echo through their town. In Qingchuan, three women observe the 49th day after the earthquake by burning paper money and setting off fireworks to remember those they lost. In Renshou, a migrant worker involved in demolishing a disaster zone returns home during the Olympics to tend his rice fields.
