Description:
For the first Ghana pavilion at the Venice Biennale, *Four Nocturnes* (2019) is the third film in a trilogy that examines how humanity's damage to nature mirrors our own self-destruction, following *Vertigo Sea* (2015) and *Purple* (2017). The film uses the decline of African elephant populations as its central story. Through poetic imagery exploring African cultural heritage, *Four Nocturnes* considers themes of mortality, loss, identity, mythology, and memory.
