La Vie après la mort (2002)

In 1992, a year after moving to Bénouville, I encountered Jean Lambert. I had often observed his dilapidated farm and wondered about its inhabitant. After months of hesitation, I visited him under the guise of buying milk. The police stopped me on the way, a surprising coincidence. Jean gave me the milk, suggesting other farms nearby. That initial encounter led to weekly dinners, lasting from 7 pm to 2 or 3 am, often with me intoxicated. Eventually, I proposed a film project, which he found amusing despite his skepticism towards cinema. He believed poetry was the only worthwhile pursuit. He passed away in the year of the eclipse. I completed the film we started together, without him.
