O Ouro de Serra Pelada (2005)

This testimonial film features Eliezer Jucá Soares, president of COMGASP, the Mixed Cooperative of the Garimpeiros of Serra Pelada. The cooperative's members, pioneers in mining the large geological formation in the Araguaia region of southern Pará, are asserting their mining rights in an area that has held national and international attention since the 1970s, when a guerrilla movement challenged the Military Dictatorship.
