Final Solution (2001)

Gerrit Wolfaardt has been completely indoctrinated with the belief that black South Africans are a threat to his country, a conviction instilled by his family, history, culture, and church. Under the guidance of government and military leaders, Gerrit formulates a ruthless plan to eliminate this perceived danger. His plans are disrupted when he encounters Celeste, an open-minded university student, and Peter Lekota, a pastor who challenges his deeply held prejudices. As Gerrit’s plan nears execution, he begins to question his beliefs, transforming from a persecutor into an advocate for peace and reconciliation between white and black South Africans. However, in the final days of apartheid, his transformation is met with skepticism, particularly from Moses Moremi, whom Gerrit had previously attacked. Ultimately, Moses must decide whether to embrace peace or resort to violence.
