The Wolf Woman (1916)

Leila Aradella is a self-absorbed woman who enjoys manipulating vulnerable men. She targets John Morton, a skilled lawyer, destroying his life both ethically and financially. Next, she ensnares Rex Walden, the privileged son of Mrs. Walden, making him completely dependent on her. Mrs. Walden sends her other son, Franklin, to stop Leila from manipulating Rex. However, Franklin also becomes captivated by Leila's charm. Rex is ultimately driven to suicide by her cruel actions. Desperate, Mrs. Walden asks Adele Harley, a woman of strong principles, to compete with Leila for Franklin’s affections. Adele’s success shatters Leila’s confidence. In a drunken fit, Leila cuts herself with a piece of a broken mirror, leaving her permanently disfigured. She ends up alone and broken.
