Description:
The quiet life of a Southern town is shattered when teenager Mary Clay is murdered on Confederate Decoration Day. Andrew Griffin, an ambitious lawyer hoping for a Senate seat, sees the murder as his opportunity. He targets Robert Hale, a Northern transplant and Mary's teacher at the business school where she died. Despite flimsy evidence, Griffin teams up with a determined reporter to fuel a wave of prejudice and hatred against Hale through the media, determined to secure a conviction.
