Relic 0 (2017)

'Relic 0' is the first film in Larry Achiampong's multi-part project, Relic Traveller: Phase 1, which explores themes of postcolonialism, technology, migration, and the body through various art forms. This short film travels between African and Western settings, examining the architecture of colonialism through an anonymous narrator's voice. It blends moments of beauty with stories of trauma, highlighting how anxiety, fear, and displacement are shaped and controlled in postcolonial societies. The film's electronic score and the narrator's clear testimony create a new atmosphere, emerging from the aftermath of a traumatized, apocalyptic present.
