Description:
This film is Taiwan’s first documentary about protest music, focusing on the band Jiao Gong Band. They first gained attention for their opposition to the Meinong Dam project. After a break from the dam issue, Jiao Gong shifted their focus to farm and farming concerns, quickly becoming popular. The film explores the difficult situation facing young people in Taiwan's farming communities. These young people who move to the city for opportunity often feel homesick. Returning to their hometown after the economic downturn, they encourage older generations to leave the village. Furthermore, due to their social standing, farm youth often seek marriage with Southeast Asian brides. The film features new residents discussing their experiences moving to Taiwan and collaborating with Jiao Gong during the making of a new album.
