Jean-Jacques Daloiseau, recently retired from the Ministry of Health, and his lifelong friend Robert have long dreamed of sailing the world. They've found a sailboat, with Robert having covered his share of the cost. Now, Jean-Jacques must sell a property in the South of France to contribute. He also needs to discuss this ambitious voyage with his wife, Carole. This sparks a series of difficulties. Carole disapproves and leaves for London. Meanwhile, their daughter Pauline returns home with her children after problems with her husband. Suddenly, Jean-Jacques finds himself acting as a nanny, juggling his daughters' issues while trying to secure funds for the boat and win back Carole's affection.
