Description:
Faced with extinction, only 320 Mlabri people remain on Earth. One generation ago, they emerged from the jungles of Northern Thailand, near the Laos border. Traditionally hunters and gatherers, they now struggle as laborers for Hmong farmers, living in impoverished settlements near Hmong villages. The Mlabri are undergoing a profound cultural shift, a transformation that has taken centuries for others. Young Mlabri must decide whether to remain with their families or integrate into Thai society. The film explores their experience navigating the intersection of their culture with the surrounding Thai cultures. Through their own words, spoken in the unique Mlabri language, young Mlabri share their perspectives on the past, present, and future.
